9

One of the legends of Nairobi park known as Kitili, was found dead after a fight with other lions.

He was born in Kingfisher pride 9 years ago and he lost his left eye at an early age. Kitili is the son of the famous Mohawk who fell victim to human-wildlife conflict. Kitili, a king who ruled Athi pride for many years, spread his lineage, secured his territory to his last breath, and died as a warrior.

Kingship in the lion world is earned, there are marked territories for each pride (Family). The king lion is in charge of the well-being of all females and cubs, providing protection to lionesses while hunting and taking a leading role whenever a huge prey like a buffalo is on their cards.
The king lion is in charge of all conjugal activities, making him the pinnacle of procreation during his reign. Females only engage the King, not Novices.
Whenever a junior lion feels that his time to Rule has come, then he must court a fight with the king lion. If he wins, the king lion loses rights and is banished away from the pride for good and the junior takes over the reign. If the junior loses then he will be banished from the pride for Good too.
Being a king in the lion world means you are the BEST.
