Fearful Matiang’i Pleads with Ruto leading to his case dropped

Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has chosen to lead a private life, away from political issues and matters. This has been revealed by North Mugirango Member of Parliament Joash Nyamoko.

He says that the former minister himself told them so during a meeting convened by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu at the Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa (Cemastea) in Nairobi.

Nyamoko reveals that Matiang’i told them that he does not want anything to do with politics and at the same time has nothing against President William Ruto, and is, therefore, wondering why he is being frustrated by the government.

The MP, who was present, claims that Matiang’i has only his former boss; Ex-President Uhuru Kenyatta, to blame, for putting him in a situation where he is seen as having worked against Ruto during the campaign season, which is why he is now suffering.

“Matiang’i said he doesn’t have any political interest. He told us they told the former president not to put them in a situation where they’d be seen as saboteurs. That came from his own mouth. He said he wants to lead a private life and doesn’t have anything against Kenya Kwanza. The former CS said it was a few politicians who are riding on his back,” he writes in The Star.

He further says that Matiang’i is the one who requested the meeting with Machogu and first talked to Ruto to be allowed time with the minister, a request Ruto agreed to and allowed to happen.

“Former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i requested a meeting with Education CS Ezekiel Machogu. The CS was given the green light by President William Ruto. The Education CS had been asked to make the President aware that Matiang’i had spoken to him about the meeting,” he further writes.
