Kenyans are now demanding the arrest of DJ Fatxo after he gave contradicting statements yesterday during a press briefing with his lawyers at a hotel in Roysambu.
After Jeff‘s death, Fatxo claimed in a statement at Kasarani police station that they had met for the first time but yesterday, he said they had known each other since 2021.
In his statement in English, he claimed that immediately he went to the house, he asked his cousin and driver about Jeff’s whereabouts. In Kikuyu, he said that he immediately went to sleep and asked about Jeff after waking.
Criminal lawyer Cliff Ombeta advised DJ Fatxo not to speak publicly on Jeff Mwathi’s death because he risks contradicting himself.
Homicide detectives who toured his home on Saturday have been looking at the possibility that Jeff could have jumped off from the rooftop given that the window was small.
However, according to an update by blogger Simon Mwangi, the caretaker said that the rooftop door is always closed and no one else has access. It was locked in the morning when Jeff died. Neighbors checked and confirmed that it was not open.
Sadly, CCTV cameras did not record where the body fell from. They only captured it as it fell down to the ground floor at the exact spot where Fatxo’s cousin and driver had been seen looking at 7 minutes before the mysterious fall.
