Three Robbers burnt alive in Thika after being found stealing

42

Three men lost their lives yesterday after an angry mob descended on them after they snatched a handbag from a woman in Thika’s Makongeni area, Kiambu County.

The three who were on a motorbike had attacked a woman who was going about her business at Polysack area before escaping towards Thika town on a red getaway motorbike whose plates were missing.

The woman’s screams of distress caught the attention of boda boda riders and a few other young men who were at a nearby ‘nduthi’ shed waiting for a squad.

This prompted the boda boda riders to chase after the bike at breakneck speed, as no less than 30 motorbikes flew past the busy highway baying for the trio’s blood.

The three thieves were unlucky as a matatu that was trying to avoid a collision hit them and they fell on the ground giving the boda noda riders a chance to catch them.

They were severely beaten before they were set on fire by the mob.
