On Tuesday, a man from Racecourse area in Nakuru stabbed his wife to death, then called their son to break the news.
The businessman Amos Njuguna allegedly attacked his wife Winnie Chepkurui, 41, at their home in the Zakayos estate.
He murdered the mother first, then called the son to break the news to him. John Kimani, a neighbour who had consoled the son said the man had departed the region soon after.
“Dad called to say he killed mum, then went underground,” the son said.
Njuguna stabbed his wife several times and then left her body in a pool of blood. Authorities have been using all possible efforts to locate the perpetrator ever since.
Martin Masika, commander of the police force in the Nakuru East sub-county, said that police were called to the home in response to a 911 call. When the cops arrived, they found her body under a bed.
From the chaos and the scattered clothing and other home belongings, he deduced that Chepkurui had fought for her life before being overpowered by her assailant.
