A political storm has engulfed the deputy president Rigathi Gachagua after the opposition leadership raised issues with him for allegedly poaching it’s members to the ruling coalition.
These comes after the Azimio coalition leaders raised an alarm after news that 3 of their leaders are said to have sneaked into the DP’s Karen home deep in the night.
The DP countered the claims by defending the move by the unnamed leaders for visiting him as he said it was not a new thing for opposing politicians to meet for development purposes.
The de-facto opposition leader Raila Odinga however criticized the DP for his spirited attempt at trying to destabilize his coalitions days after his coalition ended up losing a chunk of leaders from affiliate parties.
A high level meeting which culminated in the swearing in of Mombasa governor was used by Raila and Martha Karua to castigated the president for buying off it’s members in an attempt to avoid a formidable opposition watchdog role and putting the government in check.
