Good morning,

Remember when former Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioner, Roselyn Akombe, announced that she had gone into exile in the United States?

In their usual fashion, Kenyans on social media trolled her, accusing her of being an attention-seeking drama queen who wanted to reap fame out of the assassination of her former colleague at the Commission, Chris Msando.

Akombe has been every now and then reminding us that justice needs to be done for the late Msando and his family, but it is not until Sunday that her trollers began taking her seriously.

Apparently, Kenya’s sweetheart at IEBC during the electioneering period in 2017, ex-CEO Ezra Chiloba, threatened Akombe over her willingness to spill the beans on the circumstances surrounding the former IEBC ICT manager’s death.

According to a screenshot of an email shared by Akombe, “Chilo-bae” warned her that “our silence is not your license.”

What does that even mean? In the email allegedly from Chiloba, Akombe was also warned against attempting to re-write history.

They say that where there is smoke there is fire, and Chiloba’s no-comment-response, when asked by The Star for his side of the story, tells a lot.

As we wait to see if Akombe will drop another bombshell on what really happened to Mr. Msando, here are the stories making headlines on Opera News today:
