Bungoma Senator and ousted FORD Kenya Party Leader Moses Wetangula: The Western-based politician can’t seem to catch a break!

In the wake of his dismissal as FORD Kenya Party Leader in a bloodless coup by his juniors, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has yet again landed in fresh hot soup following the emergence of a damning video recording which could soon bring back to life the nightmares of his controversial fake gold deal which rocked the headlines in May last year.

At the time, reports pointed towards Wetangula’s trip to the United Arab Emirates the previous year (2018) as the genesis of his botched plot to defraud the Saudi Royal Family millions of shillings with the help of his influential political friends and local Kenyan scammers.

These claims were backed by a leaked telephone conversation between the man alleged to be Senator Wetangula and a gold merchant allegedly from Dubai.

In the audio, the Senator was heard mentioning names of President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga to assure a Dubai gold investor that their detained consignment would be released.

Wetang’ula assured Zandi, a business associate of United Arab Emirates ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, that he had talked to Raila who in turn reached out to Uhuru to secure the release of the pricey containers.

Days later, Wetang’ula denied any involvement, claiming there are so many people who mimic others and insisting he was not a gold trader.

The newly leaked footage, however, casts even more doubt into the Senator’s defense, since his face and voice are as clear as the light of day.

Shot in what looks like a regular city hotel, the Senator reassures his business partner that he has nothing to worry about, promising to ensure the deal flows through smoothly.

He is also heard strongly expressing his confidence in the authenticity of the “goods” and goes as far as promising the presence of law enforcement officers just to clear any doubts.

“Take it on me, you are going to see the goods, even you, your life will be in danger with those guys if you just now go and note you have seen and verified and you arrive there and find it’s not what you are carrying. You must go and verify them tomorrow. The police, the police will carry that cargo (sic) tomorrow,” Wetangula tells the Arab man.

Arab Man: The police are gonna take the gold from Nairobi, when?

Weta: Wednesday night when they arrive.

Arab Man: And will leave on Thursday morning?

Weta: Yes, this what I have been telling you ..honestly!
