Good morning Kenyans.

We are almost at the end of the first week of June which has had its fair share of drama and unforeseen moves in the political arena.

On Monday, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro predicted it was going to be a bloody week for team Tanga Tanga.

True to those words, the camp allied to Deputy President William Ruto has indeed been hit hard by drastic changes made by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Uhuru and Ruto during the Madaraka celebrations seemed to have gone back to the once bromance they had when they first came into power in 2013.

This hope was, however, quickly disbanded as a thing of the past when the President issued an executive order that surely put the final nail in the DP’s coffin.

Reports indicate that with the new directives the second in command’s powers have drastically been reduced.

Further information suggests that Ruto can no longer hire or fire staff.

In addition, the separate budget for the Deputy President’s office is alleged to have been scraped off.

The move by Uhuru was interpreted as a way to remind errant leaders that he is boss and what is easily given, can be easily taken away.

This leaves many wondering is Ruto now completely toothless and what next for the embattled DP?

The National Metropolitan Service is now under the Office of the President based on the new order by Uhuru.

A troubled Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko finally threw in the towel and allocated Ksh 3.5 billion to the NMS.

The politician had adamantly refused to accent to the proposal after he felt he was short-changed by Uhuru.

With the latest developments, what do the new rules mean for Nairobi, what happens to the County government of the city now that NMS is in full control and has Sonko like Ruto, been relegated to just a title?
