Wema Sepetu announces name change.
Tanzanian actress Wema Sepetu has made a name for herself for her cooking and show dubbed Cook With Wema on the Wema App proving she’s got a future in it proving that once you establish yourself in the entertainment scene, it can’t be difficult to restart from scratch.
Sepetu is fully aware that she’s pushing boundaries, breaking glass ceilings, and ensuring that she sticks around for a long time after leaving her acting role. For years, the former Miss Tanzania 2006 has been flirting with the name Nyumbu which means wildebeest and appears she is ready to ready to embrace name change when domestic tourism resumes after the coronavirus pandemic.
Taking to Instagram, Wema Sepetu revealed that she hasn’t been feeling her Nyumbu name and she will be giving it up and re-invent herself under a new moniker, Twiga (giraffe) insisting that’s the only animal that resembles her.
“Tanzania kuna Mbuga za Wanyama Wanyama… Alafu kuna Wanyama Binadamu…Corona Ikiisha tukianza Utalii wa Ndani, Mtakapo ona Twiga mumuite Wema… Huyu ndo mnyama nafanana nae… Mambo yenu ya Kuniita Nyumbu mnikome jamani… Mimi naenda kama Twiga… Kwanza nimekaa ki Twiga Twiga kabisaaa… Nyumbu SITAKI… Ila Pia nilikuwaga nalizimia lakini tatizo linakuja kwenye mfanano, Iam Not Nyumbu… Iam Twiga…!!! ” she wrote in her caption.
To her fans, if you feel like you’re stuck in a coronavirus dream, worry not. The name change is almost certainly not permanent, but rather a temporary!
