The trio is from Brighton Albion and the club’s Chief Executive Officer again stressed on the importance of being cautious before resuming action.

“It is a concern. Despite all of the measures that we’ve been taking over the past few weeks, where the players haven’t been involved in any significant training at all, we’ve still suffered another player testing positive for the virus,” said Paul Barber.

The news came hours after La Liga confirmed five new positive cases for coronavirus saying the cases are in the first and second division.

The tests were taken as a measure for the league to resume, and 42 club training grounds were used as testing camps for the players and staff.

“Between the clubs of [the first and second divisions], five positive cases have been detected among players, all of them asymptomatic and in the final stage of the illness,” a statement from La Liga read.

LaLiga has however not given the names of the players who have tested positive, citing data protection laws.

The players who have tested positive are set to be put on isolation and again be tested over the coming days. When they return two negative results, 72 hours apart, they will be able to join their teammates in training.
