Raila Goes Ruto’s Way In Campaigning For Imran In Kibra By-election – Daily Active

Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) party leader Raila Odinga is not leaving anything to chance.

Uncommon of him, the ODM leader embarked on a different strategy of wooing voters by holding tribal delegates meetings as campaigns near homestretch.

The strategy was first seen in Deputy President William Ruto’s camp where he welcomed members of various communities at his Karen residence to drum up support for the Jubilee candidate McDonald Mariga.

On Friday, Raila held a meeting with delegates from the Kisii community, barely a week after meeting the Gikuyu community.

Raila expressed optimism that the ODM party will win the parliamentary seat with a resounding margin in the by-election slated for November 7.

“I want to tell you that we shall win. We shall carry the day. We shall have our candidate go to parliament”, he said.

The ODM leader also used the opportunity to defend his track record as Lang’ata MP by outlining his achievements as their then-legislator.

“I initiated the slum upgrading programme. I brought onboard experts and international partners including the then head of UN-Habitat in Nairobi Ms Anna Tibaijuka and had the project launched by President Mwai Kibaki”, he said.

Moreover, Raila slammed the DP’s promise to the Kibra people saying it was untimely and unrealistic.
