Liverpool youngster, Neco Williams was elated after making his debut for the Reds in the Carabao shoot-out win over Arsenal at Anfield on Wednesday night.
A regular for the u19 and u23 side, Neco was handed his senior team debut by coach Jurgen Klopp and he impressed setting up one goal in the 10-goal thriller.
He featured in the right-back position and was impressive both defensively and in attack and coach Klopp was full of praise for him at full time.
“I am pleased for Neco, who played an incredible game and giving the assist to Divock’s goal. He took his chance well and I think he was immense in the match,” Klopp stated.
The player was over the moon, terming his bow for the Reds a dream come true.
“It’s a dream come true. It was an exciting game, I bet, for everyone. I thought the team dug in, we kept on going until the very end and I thought we deserved it,” he said.
He further admitted that his team gave away easy goals but was happy that they eventually progressed to the next round.
“I thought we gave them a few sloppy goals which we could work on in training, but overall I thought the team dug in. We stuck as a team and we got the win,” he added.
