Tiaty Member of Parliament(MP) William Kamket has sworn that the Deputy President William Ruto will never be allowed to meet Retired President Daniel Moi.

In video footage uploaded in MKN Youtube account on Saturday, the MP was recorded saying he had taken the responsibility of manning the Kabarak home of the retired president.

Kamket also said that he will not be cowed by reports indicating that his close association with Mzee Moi’s family was turning him into a gateman.

“If there is something I take pride in, it is that. Because if you are labelled a watchman to a blessed house like that then I don’t mind,” said the MP.

In a statement that aimed at ostensibly cautioning the DP against visiting Mzee Moi’s home, the KANU MP insinuated that the DP was a persona non-grata.

“It is good that I am the watchman at Kabarak so that when Uhuru Kenyatta knocks, I open for him. If Raila Odinga comes, I open for him. If its Kalonzo Musyoka, I do the same. If its Ali Hassan Joho, I open for him …

But I am certain that you know one person whom I will not allow to get in…do you know him? yes that one… so let me be the watchman there,” said Kamket.

The MP has been an ardent supporter of KANU party leader Gideon Moi and a critic of DP Ruto.

Kamket, despite his party leader having not declared presidential ambitions, has on numerous occasions advocated for Gideon’s presidency in political gatherings.

In May this year, Ruto accompanied by Energy CS Charles Keter, Ainabkoi MP William Chepkut and lawyer Stephen Kipkenda were allegedly denied access to Mzee Moi.

The botched visit opened a war of words as leaders allied to Senator Moi and DP Ruto traded accusations.

Kanu Secretary-General Nick Salat and Tiaty MP William Kamket, appeared to suggest that the DP was to blame for the aborted visit.

However, Nandi senator Samson Cherargei, a close ally of the DP, said the move was politically motivated by Mr Moi’s handlers for political expediency.
