Don’t share the video with me. Enjoy if you must. These are the exact words of Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen to his critics who are making fun of his screams shortly after dislocating his shoulder last week.
Murkomen’s response came hours after he became the subject of mockery on social media. This was after a video of him wailing in pain emerged on Monday evening.
Kenyans on Twitter and Facebook had a field day, poking fun at how the outspoken senator screamed out in excruciating pain after he fell down while playing football in a match between the Senate and Kitui County Assembly in Kitui County.
In the video, Murkomen was heard simultaneously shouting to the first aid team, “Don’t touch,” as he lies on his back at Ithookwe showground.

He was later transferred to Nairobi Hospital for specialised treatment after receiving first aid at Neema hospital in Kitui Town.
The leader of the Senate majority has, however, responded to the trolls, urging those who were sharing his traumatising video to enjoy the video but desist from sharing it with him.

Through his Twitter account, Murkomen explained that he was shouting at the first aid team not to touch his injured shoulder because he didn’t trust their expertise.
The senator was forced to undergo reconstructive surgery of his coracoclavicular ligament (connects the shoulder and collar bone) after the heavy fall at Nairobi Hospital.
Here are some of the humorous tweets and posts that forced the senator to respond;

I think it is gross/in bad taste and even callous to make fun of a badly injured amateur football player (Sen Murkomen) in great pain and discomfort..

This is a lawmaker saying “poor 1St Aid.” Imagine a parent, a child, old people in Elgeyo Marakwet and all over what they undergo when they visit poor equipped dispensaries after walking barefoot many km? Blessed are politicians can afford well equipped hospitals.

Shameless indeed, someone offers help and you slam them on social media calling it “POOR FIRST AID”. This speaks volume about the kind of person you are at heart!
