National Super League side, Migori Youth has drafted former Gor Mahia, Sofapaka and Sony Sugar defender Kevin ‘Wuod Mathe’ Olouch into their technical bench. The veteran joins the Nyanza region-based side as an assistant coach.
Wuod Mathe ventures into coaching for the first time ever having hanged his boots in 2018 after his contract with Sony Sugar expired. He featured for Sofapaka, Sony, Western Stima and Gor Mahia in a career that lasted for nearly two decades.
Oluoch will work under coach Robert Ojienda who has also joined the team. Ojienda replaces Wilson Aol who has ditched the club for Division two side, Sindo United FC where he has been appointed a head coach.
Sammy Oremo will serve as a second assistant coach while Shem Wema will serve as a club team manager. This has been confirmed by the club through a statement posted on their social media pages.
“We at Migori Youth FC are happy to welcome our technical bench. Robert Ojienda (former Sony player) and Kevin Oluoch (former Gor Mahia player) as the coach and first assistant coaches. Sammy Oremo is the second assistant coach with Shem Wema as the team manager. We are optimistic that they will help the club achieve its objective of building our young players and help expose their talents in the National Super League that we currently play in,” read the statement.
Migori Youth has started its 2019/20 campaign poorly losing its opening two games of the season. They went down 3-1 to United before suffering a 2-0 setback in the hands of Bidco United. Next for them is an away match against Coast Stima in Mombasa.
